“As a home cook with a smallholding cheesemaking was one of those things I’d always fancied trying and with plenty of eager cheese fans at home it would always be a skill well used. Helen was an excellent teacher describing the basics of cheesemaking and why certain things happen, troubleshooting techniques but most importantly how to make butter and cheese with utensils that you already have in your kitchen. The cheeses at Knockdrinna are fantastic and include sheeps, goats as well as cows cheeses. Highly recommended course & a lunch of yes you guessed it a lovely cheese platter with a guide to the different cheeses and some lovely knockdrinna chutneys..” (via TripAdvisor)

“Wow! I went open minded and couldn’t fault it. Helen commanded a very comfortable atmosphere, knew her subject, and I went away feeling inspired and so glad I bought The Sunday Times last week to fall upon the course. Surprised there was space at such short notice! Very enthusiastic having just started milking my Dexter and been totally inspired.“

“My wife and I were in Ireland on vacation but were not there during the advertised monthly class. I emailed Helen (the owner of Knockdrinna) to see about a private class for my wife and I. She agreed and we had a 4 hour private cheese making class, including a coffee break and cheese tasting lunch. The cheese making process was explained and we were allowed to participate in several phases of it, seeing it from start to finish. It was informative, fun, tasty and a great experience for us on our vacation. Helen was with us the whole time and she and her staff were pleasant and great at what they do.
I highly recommend the cafe at Knockdrinna as well add the class! Tell her you found it on Tripadvisor.“ (via TripAdvisor)
