about us

The Knockdrinna brand began with Helen Finnegan’s cheese-making in 2004.  Helen and her family made a range of cheeses under the Knockdrinna brand including cow’s goats and sheep's milk cheeses and won over 40 awards for her cheeses including the ultimate prize, Supreme Champion in 2008.  The family came to a crossroads in the cheese business in 2014, either to expand the business or scale it back to a small cheese-making business again.  The family made the decision to scale down the cheese making and concentrate on other elements on the farm.

Now the Knockdrinna Brand encompasses a number of different ventures.

  • Knockdrinna Café is our very successful artisan café focusing of fresh food all produced here in our farm kitchen.

  • Our vegetable garden and geodome provide us with freshly grown vegetables for our café and also a unique area for our guests to relax and enjoy the surroundings

  • Cheese Making and Cheesemaking courses and cheese tasting workshops.  Our cheese facility is now being used as a training facility for cheese making.  We also run home cheese making courses and cheese tasting workshops for cheese lovers.

  • Our holiday accommodation is made up of a number of traditional stone buildings that have been carefully and tastefully renovated for the holidaymaker who wants a break in the countryside.
